Post 13 - Plot Synopsis

The basic storyline to my film about a girl who is lazy and unmotivated. She then finds something she is interested in, and begins to dedicate her life to it and wants to pursue her career in this area. We see that over time she is really enjoying sport and thrives off all the opportunities she is getting.

Post 12 - Location Scouting

I researched a lot of places where I could film my final piece. I came up with a few places where I could film and those are: Essex County Cricket Club Wymondham Leisure Centre Swardeston Cricket Club Wymondham High School Academy The main venue where I set my short film was at the Essex County Cricket Club. I am lucky enough to already play for Essex Womens 1stX. this gave me very easy access to the ground and I was lucky enough to walk out onto the pitch with permission at our media day. I also used the Wymondham Leisure Centre as another location for my film. This location is very easy to access for me as it is right next to my school, approximately a 10 second walk. the hall was very large so I could do lots of filming in there, without taking up the whole hall. the location for me was very easy to find and get a hold of.

Post 3 - Genre

Genre Like other forms of popular media, film relies on the concept of genre in order to establish an audience and work within a particular narrative framework. A genre is an informal set of conventions, references, rules, and settings that establish a particular film within a particular tradition of similar films. Within each genre, there are usually subgenres , or more specific variations on a larger genre tradition. For instance, within the larger genre category of science fiction films, it is possible to distinguish subgenres, like alien abduction narratives, or time-travel scenarios. Contemporary film is filled with innumerable genres and subgenres, far too many to go into here, but in order to illustrate the intended point, we will explore three main genres and discuss a few subgenres within each: horror , romantic comedy , and action .
