Post 14 - Storyboards

These are my storyboards. I have made them very brief and simple because I feel I would go OTT if I made them more complicated. they are clear and specific to what I was originally planning to film. I stuck to my storyboard order within reason. I changed some of the sequences slightly to make the film more audience relatable and more aesthetically pleasing.

Post 17 - Evauluation

Introduction I have created a 5-minute short film based up on the idea of an unmotivated, marginalised student who is more interested in being alone with her phone than amongst others. The main representation is that of a female youth, dealing with misconceptions of hegemony and the media who label them as lazy and troublesome. In reality, I know that there are many young people like this, but nowhere near the number that the mass media portrays . Several of the existing short films I studied represent youth in a similar way, SLAP takes a motivated teen as its protagonist but reveals a secret they keep hidden, Tight Jeans and The Ellington Kid adopt the stereotypical approach of youth as wasting their days and conforming to stereotypes with their conversations through dialogue and character expression and movement, and the setting as contemporary and everyday locations. At random, we chose numbers that correlated to certain places, characters, objects and times. we collected our results and this is what I got ; Character : the last of the pirates Location : the Tower of London S ituation : a door that leads to the future Object : trees that talk When : next year Plot Synopsis : about the last remaining pirates who have their lives in jeopardy, the only way they are able to live is to gain control and power over The Tower of London. as they aim to attack the tower and gain possession, they come across trees that talk them into doing things they'll regret, they don't know it, but their risky actions lead them to the future where life as a pirate is very different... or non-existent!
